7:00 Meeting called to order by President – Ed

Meeting minutes from July 2012 approved with one spelling change

Jerry spoke of $500 donation from Kimberly Clark

Vanessa delivered a healthy baby a few weeks early

Saul will work with Jerry on future Team reports while Vanessa gets back on her feet.

FINANCE:  BILL

Current balances totaling $31,789.  Current payables equal $1,142 mostly to Pacific Pacers – Race walkers

Office is shutting down in three weeks to have asbestos removed, upgrades to bathrooms and seismic refit.  Will have to have meeting site in November and January relocated:

****“Ridge Pizza located at 72nd and Greenwood. They have a back room that we booked. Social time at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:00. “****

Rent will go from $770 to $955 for current office space.  Something to budget in for 2013 and beyond.

Currently scanning ALL past NWR magazines to be searchable online.

Testing Apricot for compatibility with Club Northwest

Solstice Run had 30 members show up.

Sunday Long Run – after summer absence has restarted with September being booked – mostly in Seattle.  Direct folks to the website for more information.

Tahoma reported 12 new members in August and will add names to the newsletter

TEAM:  JERRY

Brooks Sponsorship – Brett WinegarCNW/Brooks order #2 to sponsored athletes is complete.  Each sponsored athlete receives approximately $1,000 of gear.

Cross Country 2012 – Becca – Information for roster and schedule is on the website   150+ on this year’s roster!

Club XC Nationals – Jerry – Airline tickets secured at good price to Lexington, KY.  Budget set.  Vans rented, Non-stop flight to Cincinnati, OH.  $15,500 to be paid in November.

CNW/Brooks Social – Rose Wetzel – next social is scheduled for October

Race Comps – Kevin Murphy – program went very well throughout the summer

Team Uniforms – Meghan Lyle – second singlet order form Russell has been received.  We should be pretty set for XC season.  The new logo artwork has been reworked slightly for better CNW logo visibility.  Also, we are working with Russell for new sublimated team jackets.  Maybe Royal Blue?

Donations – Kathy Edris – Sports Reaction Center Sponsorship – Laura Mickelson & Race Walking – Stan Chraminski – No Reports

Youth Teams – Christin – youth team had a wonderful end of the season party and awards ceremony.  Congrats to all, including Coach Gavin Tucker for another great season.

EVENTS:  BILL

Firecracker 5k had 1,800 entries.  $11,021 for CNW!!

All Comers recap – 725 entries for last meet with 460 kids - $1,88 profit for the year.

Washington Subway Games – healthy turnout for open/masters although Emerald Downs event had only 30 runners

Warrior Dash 27,000 at North Bend event

Magnusson Series – coupon codes being used by Club NW members

Upcoming Events:

PNTF XC – November 4th @ Lower Woodland Park

Winter Grand Prix – (16th Year)

November Board meeting will be the 40th Anniversary of CNW

COMMUNICATIONS:  TONY

Enewsletter is in circulation to our 462 members every other month.  Please send Laura your stories and updates so they can be posted.

NEW BUSINESS

Orange shirts – long sleeve?

Sports Reaction Center (SRC) – Neil is looking for ways to extend our relationship with others.  Mentioned that the High Schools should plug on Sports Blog.

Annual Meeting (March 2013) – repeat last year @ BRIG or @ BROOKS Headquarters

Races – for profit vs non-profit.  Department of Revenue looking to see if sales tax should be charged.  Possible retroactive tax bill.  Could mess up/blow up races or eradicate 25% of current race calendar.  CNW still unclear and will research for report next meeting.

Notable Performances:  RailRoad Days 10k – CNW women Top 7 while men 7 of top 10.  Labor Day Half well represented even though Uli Stiedl stole the show with a three minute victory.  Paul Limpf back from the East to run for Club.
