Meeting called to order at 7:28 pm.

Minutes:  Phil Finger

Nick Fleming moved that the August meeting minutes be approved and it was seconded by Shelley Neal.  Motion passed.

Financial Report:  Bill Roe

Club Northwest is very healthy financially and has a financial balance of about $30,000.00.  Without a report from NWR for August, it is difficult to be precise.

Northwest Runner Report:  Martin Rudow

A report will be sent to Bill by week’s end.  The magazine conversion to redesign and glossy stock will begin with the December issue.  Martin is looking for folks to help with the Seattle Marathon.

Team:  Chuck Bartlett

The Sundodger cross country meet is this coming Saturday, September 16th.  Chuck held a team meeting two weeks ago and the women’s team will be running in orange singlets like the men.  Both teams are strong and looking very good.

Events:  Brian Oster and Bill Roe

Road Runner Sports is officially back as Club Northwest events sponsor for 2007.  There will be expo vendors in the Hanger at the next Resolution Run, and Fat Tire beer will be hosting the beer garden.

Membership:  Brian Oster, Bill Roe and Nick Fleming

The plan to raise Club Northwest membership rates in January of 2007 was discussed.  A proposed membership fee schedule was passed out and will be voted on in the October CNW Board meeting.  The use of the membership e-mail group will be enhanced.  An ad and article in the December issue of Northwest Runner  will identify the magazine as a Club Northwest publication.

New Business:

1.      The Saturday runs at Sand Point will be cancelled after September due to lack of turnout.

2.      Contracts will be discussed at the October board meeting in closed session.

3.      Tom Cotner has recruited some very good master’s runners in the “50” age bracket and will provide the names to Chuck.

4.      In light of additional master’s runners, arrangements for the upcoming meet in San Francisco were discussed.

The move to adjourn was made by Phil Finger and seconded by Tony Young.  The meeting adjourned at 8:40 pm.

The next Club Northwest Board meetings will be on October 9th and November 13th.
