This year's Winter Grand Prix is off to a great start.  We have increased participation in most divisions, and are even contemplating dividing a couple of the more populated divisions -- 40s for both men and women and 50s for men-- into five-year divisions!

There are several divisions where we are sorely lacking entries -- participants who join tomorrow could probably still score well in any of these divisions.  If you ran a solo / single race in one of our first two races (Dec. 1 or Dec. 15), those will count if you join the series by 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.  Divisions with low entries so far include:

-- both elementary primary boys and girls (grades 3 and under)

-- boys elementary intermediate (grades 4-6)

-- girls middle school (grades 7-8)

-- all four men's and women's college divisions

-- women 20-29

-- over 60s women

-- over 70s women and men

-- love handles (also referred to as the Clydesdale and Athena divisions by some races)

Race results for the first two races and series standings so far are posted at!

Our next race is tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. at the beach house in Magnuson Park, and should be a mud festival of a cross country run!  Although we had great weather for our Resolution Run and Trip 'n Drip on Tuesday, January 1, it has been wet for most of the last two months.  Come slip 'n slide with us!

For a little better footing, join us on January 19 at 9 a.m. for the Winter Grand Prix road run, and stick around for the Magnuson Series Martin Luther King Jr Weekend Runs 5k, 10k, or 15k at 10 a.m.  Both races offer discounts to CNW members.

Your last chance to establish your seed time for the "chase race" finale on February 16 will be the February 2 track races at Nathan Hale.  We'll have 5 or more heats beginning at 9 a.m.  We always get a bunch of single race entries here for folks who don't get the chance to run 3218m on the track very often anymore!  Sign up by 8:45 if you want to race!
