Personal: Rose Wetzel grew up in Seattle, WA, the eighth child in a family of nine, running to keep up with her older siblings. Her two-time 3A 800 meter state champion achievement in high school garnered her a track scholarship to Georgetown University. After four intense, competitive years in college, Rose relaxed for a few years and enjoyed running by racing many local road races in costumes such as Wonder Woman, Bat Girl, a leprechaun, and a turkey. For fun, she tried out the STP (Seattle to Portland) bike ride, a couple of marathons, the Hood to Coast Relay, and a couple of sprint triathlons, while teaching others to be fit through her personal training business, RoseRunner Sports & Fitness. She recently stepped up her training with the goal of being one of the very best middle distance runners in the nation!
