Volunteer work: At-large Board Member of Club Northwest, Membership and Communications Committee member, CNW Sunday Run Leader, Coach for Girls on the Run Fall 2014

Personal Info:  Drea grew up in the Seattle and during her senior year of high school, was convinced by her neighbor to give cross-country a try following a trail run together. Despite being the only female high school runner on her team at the time, it was love at first sight when it came to competitive running. She became Northwest School’s first high school female runner to qualify for state in cross-country and decided that she would continue running through college.

Drea attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA where she competed in cross-country and track for all four years and graduated with a degree in professional writing and a minor in music performance.

After spending a year traveling through Europe following graduation and a few years of professional experience as a technical writer, Drea returned to school, gaining her M.A. in Public Communication from American University in Washington, DC.

She is currently working as a communications consultant for McGraw-Hill Education and lives in the Seattle area with her husband Paul and cats, Carl and Luna.
