registration coming soon!

Running events are no stranger to bikes races. From the Red Hook Crit to the Inteligencia Cup, notable road cycling races incorporate 5k running races as a part of their events, seamlessly bringing together the cycling and running communities. Building on their momentum and general enthusiasm to “bring back the mile,” the Ballard Crit and Club Northwest offer Seattle something truly unique amidst a sea of summer 5ks.

Registration for the first annual Ballard Crit Road Mile will open soon, so lace up your trainers and start working on those fast twitch muscles!

The mile will have 3 different races; the open mile, men’s elite mile, and women’s elite mile. Each race is two 700ish meter laps plus a small add around the blocks of downtown Ballard. The course is USATF Certified. There will be a time qualifier required to enter the elite miles and each elite race will be capped at 30 racers. In the open mile, racers will need to complete the first lap in under 4:00 to prevent racers lapping each other too much. There is no field size limit in the open mile. Below is the schedule and qualifiers;

1:05 PM: Open Mile, must complete 1st lap in <4:00, entire event in <15:00.

5:55 PM: Elite Women, must have run <5:45 to enter, field capped at 30 runners

7:15 PM: Elite Men, must have run <5:00 to enter, field capped at 30 runners
