Club Northwest is very excited to have our youth/junior youth track and field practices again this summer!
Coach Rod Wilcox, who was inducted into WIAA Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022 (congratulations Rod!!), will again be our lead track & field coach this summer.

Junior Youth Team Summer Practices
The Club Northwest Junior Youth Team Summer Practices are for athletes aged 4-8 who are interested in learning more about the sport of track and field and trying a variety of events. Practices will be held Monday and Friday afternoons starting Monday June 10 and ending Friday August 9. Practices will be 6-7 pm during June while the Shoreline School District is still in session. (While the school year is in session, school properties are not available for rent until 6 pm.) Starting July 1, practices will be 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Athletes are also encouraged to participate in the Club Northwest All-Comers Meets at Shoreline Stadium on Wednesday evenings from May 29 to August 14. Each member of the Junior Youth Team will receive a free Club Northwest youth-sized shirt.

The Club Northwest Youth Team Summer Practices are for athletes ages 9-15 of all ability levels who are interested in practicing track and field during the summer and achieving their personal goals. Practices will be held Monday and Friday afternoons starting Monday June 10 and ending Friday August 9. Practices will be 7:15 – 8:30 pm during June while the Shoreline School District is still in session. (While the school year is in session, school properties are not available for rent until 6 pm.) Starting July 1, practices will be 5:45 – 7:00 pm. Athletes are also encouraged to participate in the Club Northwest All-Comers Meets at Shoreline Stadium on Wednesday evenings from May 29 to August 14. Each member of the Youth Team will receive a free Club Northwest shirt.

[Athletes seeking a higher level or event-specific coaching may contact Coach Rod Wilcox directly for potential 1:1 or small group training. These practices will not be part of the Club Northwest summer program.]
HOW TO JOIN

For questions related to joining Club Northwest or registering online for practices, please contact Rick Albright at tonicella@hotmail.com. In order to participate in practices, athletes must be a Club Northwest member and must register for the practices online.
Club Northwest Membership: $30 for an individual junior youth or youth team membership or $75 for a family membership. Youths already covered under a family membership do not need to pay any additional Club membership fees. Click HERE to join Club Northwest.

Junior Youth Team Practice Fees: Registration fees for the practices will be $225 for the entire summer season, or $125 for ½ season. After joining Club Northwest, go to “Events” on our membership site to register for “Junior Youth Team Practices.” Our membership website is at clubnorthwest.wildapricot.org.

PRACTICE LOCATION
Practices will be held at the Shorewood High School track, located at 17300 Fremont Ave N, Shoreline, WA. Parents are welcome to stay during practices and perhaps get in their own workout at the track, as long as they don’t interfere with the youth team workouts. Please note that there are no restroom facilities open at the field, so please plan accordingly. (Last year, there were port-a-potties onsite, and we’re hoping they’ll be there again this summer.)
REGISTRATION
Registration will be available online at clubnorthwest.wildapricot.org beginning March 31, 2024. All athletes must be Club Northwest members, either as an individual youth team member or as part of a family membership. Each athlete also needs a waiver signed by their parents. (Waiver forms will be available at practices.) Parents working out at the track will also need to sign their own waiver.
2024 TRACK MEETS
Club Northwest All-Comers Track & Field Meets will start on May 29, 2024, and will be held every Wednesday evening through August 14. The meets will be held at Shoreline Stadium. (Athletes will need to register and pay separately for the All-Comers meets, but will receive a discount for being Club members.)
