About

Gwen grew up in Yakima, WA and attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA for her undergraduate degree. Through the University of Washing in Seattle, she earned Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health in 2002 and 2003, respectively, and completed her Doctorate in Health Services Research in 2012.  She is currently a Research Associate with Group Health Research Institute. She began running competitively as an adult under the guidance of Tom Cotner, local elite coach and nationally recognized track and field leader.  She married her husband, Michael, in 2008 and took time away from running during the 2009-2010 seasons to have her twins, Milo and Tess.  She returned in 2011 excited to compete as a Masters runner.
