About
Married to Alison Tubbs Mandi, whom he dated during their time together on the University of Washington Track and Field / Cross Country teams. Have two sons, Nate (3) and Tyler (1). Currently works as the Head Coach of Track and Field / Cross Country at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA.
Began running track as a high school junior at Mariner High School, where he competed in the 1,600m and 3,200m. During senior year, was a state qualifier in cross country and state alternate during track in the 3,200m. Walk-on at the University of Washington, where he ran for 5 years (red-shirting freshman year) under Coach Greg Metcalf. Coach Metcalf and assistant coach David Bazzi helped him to excel during his collegiate career, winning 2 cross country invitational titles, 2 All-Pac-10 accolades, and making the UW Top-10 All-Time list in several events. Has been competing for Club Northwest since 2006.
